Committing Yourself on the Most Splendid Infant Crib Bedding for Your Baby’s Room

Preparing the nursery for your new baby can be a fun way to help pass those long months of waiting for your little miracle to arrive. You can establish the theme of your new nursery through your choice of crib bedding. You can use your creativity when exploring all the different themes for the bedding that are out there.

These are the things to consider as you set out to buy either baby girl or crib bedding for boys. A baby’s safety is always number one but comfort is a close second. Doctors recommend leaving the crib empty of decorations and toys to optimize safety for your infant. There is a risk of suffocation if the newborn shifts in the crib to a position which impedes free breathing.

Even newborns are capable of moving themselves around their crib, though they have minimal control. They often get themselves into awkward situations, either stuck in a corner or tangled in the blanket. The fewer loose items in the crib, the less the risk of your newborn shifting against something that impedes breathing.

For the newborn, it is recommended to avoid using a crib bumper because it may come loose and cover the baby’s face. Newer cribs are advantageous as their slats are close together eliminating the need for a bumper which was a necessity with older cribs that had slats widely spaced. A sleep sack is better than a loose comforter for a child. To reduce the possibility of suffocation, one option is a sleep sack - a warm blanket that is worn like clothing and is fitted to the body. Once you have fitted your baby crib with  the sheet, check up once again that it has really embraced the mattress.

You will want to buy comfortable, washable extra sets of baby bedding. At least one extra set is highly recommended, because you will be changing sheets often and you will want to have the crib available for your baby while one set of bedding is in the wash.
